Writing has always been difficult for me. I always struggled with my intro.....However, I always somehow seem to pull through! I do not know why or how, but I HATE starting and enjoy finishing. Its the weirdest thing.

Artistic Response
When asked to come up with an artistic response about the Sherman Alexie novel, I wasn't sure what to do......I am not an artistic person at all. I once drew a chicken at work and everyone thought it looked like a deformed horse! Gladly, I joined a group of artistic people and we decided to make an altered book. An altered book is when you take a book and alter its appearance to what you thought of the book. My group met over the weekend and agreed to cut out the pictures in the book and make some sort of a time line. The cover has an Indian Thunderbird that one of my team mates drew, representing Arnold being an Indian. the first section had the important characters in the novel and ended with Arnold hitting Mr.P then the picture of "hope or rez".
The second section had all the hard parts in Arnold life, we used pictures about him being poor, not having a ride to school, and his family's death.
Then the third section has the good ending of the book. Arnold reunites with rowdy, his report card, and a picture of a bird that Arnold drew that symbolizes long flight.....that symbolizes the long road ahead for Arnold after High School.
The back cover has been stripped with red, white, and blue to symbolize Arnold's acceptance by America.
Also on the seem, we put a picture of Arnold that has him split between his Indian and white version of him. This was done so that if you look at the full cover of the book, you can see the transformation from a hated Indian to an Indian that is accepted by whites.
Gladly, the book turned out a great success and every person on my team did an excellent job.

Todays technology!
Currently, I am taking a programming class at CCC. I am so fascinated with how much technology has advanced over the past 10 years. From starting with a wireless phone that makes phone calls to phones that bring your email, Facebook, and weather instantly to your finger tips. That is why I hope to one day to become a Computer Science Engineer. The road has been tough so far, but I will prevail.

How to survive in a racist world
When I first moved to the U.S. six years ago, I wondered at how I would be able to survive in a country that has people that judge each other based on the color of their skin. After a few years of dealing with the problem of racism, I came up with a "guide" on how to respond to racism and what the consequences of the action I take has.
When someone makes a racist joke against you, you can:
1) Ignore it
2) Make a racist joke back at them
3) Tell someone
4) Beat them!
Now lets look at what happens if you pick one of the options above.
1) Ignoring it wont make it stop. And as time goes on, the jokes will only get worse which will lead you to stop ignoring the problem and move on to a different solution.
2) Making a racist joke back at them will only piss the person off. Which will lead to other creative jokes. And over time, you find a new action to take against the racist person.
3) Telling someone, a counselor or a teacher, will make the racist person sit down with the person you told and they might get detention or even expulsion from school. Usually, the racism stops there. However, it is possible that the person might come back to school with a vengeance and you are number one on his hit list.
4) If the jokes don't stop, you might have to resort to the final action, beating them! If the jokes never stop and you challenge the person to a fight, AND WIN, the jokes are sure to stop. However, if you lose, you are screwed for life.

The Life of a Foreigner
The Life of a Foreigner is no walk in the park. For example,in order for a foreigner to survive, they must learn and embrace the new culture that they live in. Some might say that Indians should live the American culture since they reside in America. However, Native Americans are NOT the foreigners of this land. They have and always will be the original inhabitants of America. So, I believe that Native Americans should be able to live and practice their culture without having to change to accommodate the American culture.

Why does someone bully
While doing my paper on bullying, I asked myself, why do people bully the weak?
There have been researches done to answer this question. However, I cannot wrap my head around what the bullies did to Arnold! He must have showed some signs of disability and it takes a very cruel person to pick on a special needs child. Some might argue that he is an native, which is why he was picked on. However, that is no excuse to pick on anyone!
